Detailed Itinerary
Kathmandu to KathmanduExpand all

The very onset of your adventure lies in the breathtaking helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, offering aerial views of the majestic Himalayas. After landing at the most thrilling Lukla airport, you will start trekking towards Phakding. Our team will manage to find a porter, or you can select one yourself, as your trekking will start soon towards Phakding. Beautifully descends through pine forests and passes several small Sherpa settlements. Gentle on the first day, softening both to acclimatize and give the chance to fill up on fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery.

After about 3 to 4 hours of trekking, you will reach Phakding, where you will stay overnight.

On the second day, you will be trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the lively heart of the Everest Region. The trail follows the scenic Dudh Koshi River and crosses thrilling suspension bridges furnished with prayer flags. Along the way, you will go through picturesque Sherpa villages such as Monjo and Jorsalle before entering a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sagarmatha National Park. The trek involves gradual ascents with a tough uphill climb before finally reaching Namche Bazaar. With wonderful glimpses of Mount Everest, the 6 to 7-hour trek becomes worth it.

Once you settle into your teahouse, you can enjoy stunning views of Namche Bazaar and the surrounding village.

You will stay another night on this date at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization, as the body must readjust from having been trekked to higher altitudes most of the time. It helps to cope with thinner air and the changes in conditions, greatly helping one reduce chances of getting altitude sickness or AMS, and preparing you for the journey ahead.

You will be hiking up to Hotel Everest View (3,880 m) in the early morning. During the Sunrise, you will be able to watch incredibly beautiful peaks in the surrounding area, such as Mount Everest (8848.86 m), Ama Dablam (6812 m), Lhotse (8516 m), and Nuptse (7861 m). Later, you may visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, where you can learn more about the Sherpas’ traditions and way of life in the Khumbu region. At last, you can utilize the remaining days by exploring Namche Bazaar, where you can explore different cafes, local bakeries, and shops.

In the morning at Namche Bazaar, you will have breakfast. After that, your trek on stone-paved paths to Tengboche starts revealing marvelous mountain views at every bend. While walking the uphill trail, your beautiful eyes can witness the breathtaking sights of Tawache (6,495 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), Nuptse (7,861 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), and towering Everest (8,848.86 m).

The trekking way, around 5-6 hours, brings you to Tengboche (3,860 m), home to the famous Tenboche Monastery—the largest and most important monastery in the Khumbu region. Here, you can enjoy mesmerizing Buddhist prayers and mantras echoing through the mountains in the early morning and evening, instilling a sense of spirituality along the way.

You will continue trekking today from Tengboche up to Dingboche, going higher through beautiful rhododendron forests and stone-paved paths. During the trip, you may have terrific aerial views of Ama Dablam.

Upon reaching Dingboche (4,410 m), you will be settling down to spend the night in consolation with the peaceful alpine atmosphere and impressive mountain views.

Today is for acclimatization at Dingboche (4,410 m), which will help your body adjust to thinner air and reduce possible altitude sickness. Short hikes to nearby viewpoints, such as Nangkartshang Peak, or visiting surrounding villages are options for you. Spend the rest of the day relaxing, taking in the beautiful Himalayan view, and preparing your body for treks at even higher altitudes ahead.

After spending quality time at Dingboche, you are set to ascend toward Lobuche. The trails on this route turn rugged and then become very much like a moraine landscape. If you are lucky to have a clear day, you will spectator astonishing views of the Himalayas like Mount Everest (8,848.86 m), Nuptse(8,596 m), Lhotse(8,516), Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and Pumori (7,161). There are small settlements along the trail, which give the flavor of the remoteness of the Himalayas. After 4 to 5 hours of walking, the scenic trail leads you to Lobuche (4,910 m), where you spend a night and rest before the next leg toward Everest Base Camp.

You have long been awaiting the Everest Base Camp Trek, which begins with hiking to Gorakshep. Every step towards the base of the world’s tallest peak, Mount Everest, fills with excitement. It increases as you will be witnessing the highest glacier in the Nepalese territory, Khumbu Glacier (4900 m). This section is the finishing touch to the Everest Base Camp and is regarded as one of the most enjoyable hikes of the entire trek.

When you arrive in Gorakshep, you will have Lunch and some rest before moving toward the Everest Base Camp. The trail ahead is rugged, going mostly uphill, and therefore, a steady pace and vigilance are extremely important. A 4 to 5 hour trek from Gorakshep brings you to the highly renowned Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), which offers wide-open views that stun the senses and awaken a feeling of deep awe and spirituality. After exploring, taking pictures, and making memories, you will be back in Gorakshep for the night.

This day starts with waking up early in the morning, as you will be hiking to Kalapatthar(5,545 m) to be part of the beautiful Sunrise View. You will have a summary of the whole journey as you can witness the finest panorama of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and all the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

After sunrise and plenty of photos, you shall descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast, before continuing the descent toward Pheriche (4,371 m) for an overnight stay. This day celebrates the thrill of having achieved being on top of the world with a gradual trek back down to a respectable altitude, where comfort and rest can be easily attained.

As you start your descending trek from Periche back to Namche Bazaar, you walk through the scenic landscapes, small village alleys, and can capture the pretty views of the Mountains for the last time. This descent brings you back to greenery surroundings and gradually reduces the altitude. After arriving at Namche Bazaar, you will spend the night here along with reflecting on the incredible journey so far.

At last, bid farewell to the Himalaya and Khumbu Valley, and descend back to Lukla, the starting point of your adventurous venture. Hold the unforgettable moments close to your heart as you get ready to return to Kathmandu. Overnight in Lukla.
